The Highlight at Houston Center – Feature Wall

Located in the heart of Houston`s vibrant downtown area, LEED Gold Certified and Energy Star rated The Highlight at Houston Center is a mixed-use office campus offering 18580 m² (200,000 ft²) of shopping, dining, and service options.

As part of an historic Houston Center campus renovation intended to help attract new tenants and increase foot traffic, the large lobby wall adjacent to the escalator at The Highlight received a dynamic new lighting treatment designed to draw attention to the renovated area of the building. 

The client wanted an affordable, addressable, color-changing LED RGBW linear luminaire to mount behind acrylic and not appear pixelated. Color Kinetics Vaya Tube G2, RGBW fixtures – 119 in various lengths – were selected for their quick lead time, high quality, and previous positive experience with the product line. Power and data for the fully controllable lighting solution is delivered by Color Kinetics CM-150 CA gen2.

Completed February 2023, the dazzling new lobby wall displays a variety of captivating light shows and effects according to the time of day and to mark holidays and events, and takes its place among the other wonderful Houston Center renovations that help create a healthy and dynamic people-first experience for work and leisure.
