The new connected lighting system showcases the stadium rooftop and façade in high quality, energy-efficient LED lighting. It is designed to enhance the experience of every fan, visitor and onlooker to one of the busiest stadiums and home to one of the premier professional football teams in the United States. The lighting system unveiling coincides with the Seahawks’ first home night game of the 2019/2020 season.
The lighting system includes high-quality and energy-efficient Color Kinetics iColor Flex LMX luminaires (now specified with Flex Compact gen3, RGB) which are engineered to withstand the harsh weather conditions of the Pacific Northwest. These best-in-class LED strands follow the contours of the CenturyLink Field letters and logo, projecting light outward and allowing the venue to shine. The dynamic lighting capabilities also produce thousands of possible configurations to create dynamic, custom-programmed light shows in commemoration of the Seahawks’ eight regular season home games, 190 non-sporting events such as concerts and other arts performances, and numerous holidays and important civic causes.
“The connected lighting system we have created for the Seahawks has the power to enhance the CenturyLink Field experience for fans, residents and visitors – both inside and outside the stadium,” said Roger Karner, US Market President, Signify. “Being able to manage the lighting with the click of a mouse provides the Seahawks with a new opportunity to build even greater affinity with the Seattle community not just during the football season but any night of the year.”
"The unique application of light to our stadium will enhance how Seahawks fans experience our team and brighten one of the most iconic landmarks on the Seattle skyline." — David Young, Seahawks Senior Vice President of Business Operations and GM, CenturyLink Field
