To increase visibility and brand awareness for multidisciplinary engineering firm BOM Engineering, owner, Jeroen Bom considered installing a digital billboard advertisement along Highway A17 100 m (328 ft) away from his office building. Purchasing billboard advertising is expensive, so he devised a creative solution – transform the exterior of the BOM Engineering office building into a digital advertisement.
In collaboration with Haas Reclame, they created a massive print for the building façade that was illuminated by Color Kinetics partner, Livingprojects, to make the print visible in the evening from the highway. Livingprojects was tasked with demonstrating the quality difference between Color Kinetics products and lighting fixtures provided by the local construction market. It only took a brief demonstration for Bom to decide to remove the construction-market fixtures and proceed with Color Kinetics ColorGraze MX4 Powercore, RGBW luminaires (12) due to their durability, sustainability, and superior quality of colorful light – a project requirement in order to perfectly highlight the colors on the print.
Completed in the fall of 2020, BOM Engineering proudly displays striking and energy-efficient facade lighting that is easy for them to operate.
