    Energy-efficient lighting rings in impact

Located in Centenary Square, the 19th-century Bradford City Hall is a Grade I listed building. Inspired by the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the magnificent clock tower, which houses thirteen bells and soars 67 m (220 ft) into the sky, is the City Hall’s most notable feature.

As part of an essential project to rewire the building, Signify Certified System Integrator, LITE LTD, together with Bradford Building and Technical Services, and Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council’s Environmental and Climate Change Unit, replaced the existing lighting system with energy- and cost-efficient LED lighting from Color Kinetics.

The programmable lighting solution - featuring Color Kinetics ColorBlast Powercore gen4, RGBW (now specified with ColorBlast Powercore gen5, RGBW) and ColorGraze MX4 Powercore illuminating the clock tower, and Color Kinetics ReachElite High Punch Powercore, RGBW in custom-built cages on each side of the entrance - delivers dynamic and colorful lighting and effects that add an extra dimension to the tunes played by the bells to support special events and celebrations in the adjacent city park and beyond. The clarity and intensity of the LED lighting also provides the perfect white light to enhance the tower’s intricately carved stonework.
