Located on Grand Parade in the heart of Cork, Ireland, SoHo is a new upmarket club offering dining and evening entertainment for its affluent clientele. In the evening, the club features live bands, prominent DJs and a dynamic atmosphere with color changing interior attractions.

To achieve a modern, fashionable feel, SoHo requested lighting schemes throughout the establishment, powered by Color Kinetics’ LED lighting technology. ECI Lighting installed 50 iColor Cove® MX Powercore units, the highest-intensity fixture within Color Kinetics’ iColor Cove series, at the bar base. The new effects enable customers to view up to eight lighting scenes -- composing of six fixed color and two color fade shows -- at various times. Due to its small size, the 12” (30.2 cm) fixture can be placed in small, inconspicuous areas, and the LED sources tout low energy consumption with minimal maintenance requirements. Also, to provide ultimate control over its lighting displays, ECI opted to use Color Kinetics’ wall-mounted Controller Keypad, in conjunction with iPlayer® 2, the multiple storage and playback system. This allows for an easy transition from one ColorPlay® lighting show to another with a simple push of a button.

SoHo now attracts customers for being a hip and trendy night hotspot, but is also put on the map for its visual effects, ultimately setting it apart from other Cork-area venues.
