Chicago nightlife is bigger and brighter with the opening of Ontourage – a 10,000 square foot space that blends 21st century sound and lighting technology for a high-energy, sensory experience. Color Kinetics’ intelligent LED illumination is applied throughout the two-level nightclub, ranging from the DJ booths to the bars and lounge areas.

Hospitality Design Group conceptualized a colorful, visually stimulating space where softly transitioning colors complement the sleek, contemporary surroundings. Both the main- and upper-level bars are lined with acrylic panels that radiate any of 16.7 million colors. The panels are lit by seamless runs of iColor® Cove 12” – a compact, linear system that brings vibrant, colored light to tight or concealed spaces. iColor Cove is also used to illuminate various “color panels” that decorate the walls and ceilings in several places, including the cylindrical foyer that joins the club’s two levels.

The main-level bar is bordered by floor-to-ceiling, plexiglass columns that are lit from within by ColorBurst® 6 – an LED-based spotlight that casts a colorful, soft-edge beam of light. The upper-level bar mimics this effect with three columns that are illuminated by ColorBlast® 12.

All of the dynamic lighting effects are programmed with ColorPlay® authoring software and stored on the iPlayer® 2 playback device. A simple Controller Keypad interface allows the club’s manager to change the light show with the push of a button. The LED-based units collectively produce a remarkable sequence of programmed effects, including gradual color sweeps, chasing rainbows, and vivid fixed colors.

This fusion of high-tech lighting, color and sound is a must-see experience for Chicago residents and visitors alike.
