Night Colors

Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan

Color Kinetics Japan vividly lit the stage for a two-night event in Tokyo called Night Colors – a creative blend of color, dance, and music. Mr. Takayuki Fujimoto designed and programmed a sequence of ethereal lighting effects to synchronize with the contemporary performance. The set was illuminated by iColor® Cove systems mounted in the ceiling and ColorBlast® systems that framed the stage’s perimeter. As a result, the space was transformed by color and light throughout the dancers’ performance – ranging from bold washes of a single hue to color-changing spotlights on the performers. The kinetic lighting effects were designed to correspond with the avant-garde choreography. The end result met with rave reviews from the audience.

Color Kinetics’ LED lighting systems are ideally suited for theater and stage applications that require saturated color and intelligent control for customizable effects in set design. Unlike conventional light sources, Color Kinetics’ systems require no gels or filters to add colored accents, and their low-heat, low-maintenance nature allows versatility in positioning the units for maximum effect. In addition to these practical benefits, LED- based systems are inherently capable of sophisticated control for creative freedom in lighting design.
