The colorful link between rock and roll and fashion is celebrated in "Rock Style," a landmark new exhibit mounted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. When the design team at the museum got the call to make these world-famous costumes look as remarkable as the day they were first seen onstage, it was natural to go for rock-style lighting with lots of dynamic color. But with the special requirements of a museum exhibit, large, hot, motorized lights were out of the question. Where other lighting options could not measure up, Color Kinetics' LED-based full spectrum digital lighting provided the design team with the means to mount a spirited, engaging exhibit that reflects their initial vision for the project. "I don't know of any other technology that could have met our lighting requirements," notes Zack Zanolli, Lighting Designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. "As far as I'm concerned, we could not have done this project without Color Kinetics."
