Lotus Restaurant
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
Located in a nearly 100 year old building in the restored warehouse district of Oklahoma City, Lotus Restaurant features many vivid examples of Color Kinetics intelligent LED illumination in action.
Every space of the restaurant features unique, color-changing lighting effects, all made possible by a variety of Color Kinetics solutions. Among these ornamental touches are intricately etched glass applications that are edgelit with iColor® Cove to illuminate the glass with a gradually changing rainbow of colors. In addition, fabric elements in the restaurant are lit from within using iColor Cove® and ColorBlast®. Elegantly etched rail pendants are each fitted with an iColor MR lamp and centrally powered and controlled using Smartjuice® technology over the low voltage rail. The combination of these eye-pleasing effects creates a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience.
Using ColorPlay® and iPlayer® 2, new lighting effects are easily authored, stored, and played back to create varying moods. This also gives the restaurant owner "room level" control, enabling the banquet room to display static color for a dinner while the rest of the restaurant has a color-changing presentation. In addition, the Controller Keypad provides an optimal interface to quickly and easily access up to eight light shows stored on iPlayer 2.
According to the owner, Kevin Crysler, "The Color Kinetics elements in the space seem to leave people awestruck. We get positive comments about the lighting every night."
With decades of potential lamplife and no maintenance concerns at all, the visitors of Lotus will have something special to enjoy for many years to come.
