Comcast Imax 3D Theater At Jordan's Furniture

Natick, Massachusetts, USA

Jordan's Furniture knows furniture - and entertainment. The popular family-run Massachusetts-based retailer sells more furniture per square foot than any other furniture retailer in the country, and for nearly a century New Englanders have traveled to Jordan's to outfit their homes with quality furniture. But Jordan's customers aren't just getting great furniture when they visit the store, they're getting an entertainment experience - what Jordan's calls "shoppertainment."

Jordan's recently took their "shoppertainment" philosophy to a new, colorful level by opening a 262-seat, 3D IMAX theater inside their Natick, MA, store. The show begins before customers even step inside with a light show extravaganza starring Color Kinetics intelligent Chromacore® LED illumination technology, which can be seen from the street below. The exterior of the building incorporates four stories of "windows," which are in fact light boxes each containing one ColorBlast® fixture. The ColorBlast units are programmed via a professional lighting console to display rich, saturated colors and eye-catching effects inviting customers into the store.

Once inside the theater lobby, Color Kinetics illumination technology also can be found beckoning customers to the "snax" counter (via channel letters lit with iColor Cove®), as well as leading moviegoers into the theater (through points of color changing light emanating from punched holes in a wavy metal ceiling). With more than 4,000 people visiting the store on an average weekend day, the new theater and color changing light show is sure to have them returning for repeat performances!
