Diesel
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
Diesel opened its doors in June 2006 with a towering, dynamic Color Kinetics LED lighting installation that matches the energy of the club itself.
Conceptualized by Miami-based firm idesign, a two-story color-morphing wall forms the centerpiece of the club’s interior – creating an animated backdrop for the dance floor and musical performances. The wall’s frosted surface is back-lit by 415 units of iColor Cove®. Each 6” (15.2 cm) unit is individually controllable to generate hundreds of colors and unique patterns that are triggered with a simple touch-screen monitor.
Elsewhere in the club 75 iColor® MR g2 lamps are installed along the ceiling above architectural columns. The lamps are designed to easily retrofit most MR16 fixtures, creating a simple way to incorporate LED technology within existing lighting environments.
Another 500 6” units of iColor Cove are installed throughout the vibrant space, including the bar and seating area.
