Cherry Nightclub at the Red Rock Resort and Casino

Although Red Rock is built away from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas strip, there is nothing reserved about its nightclub, Cherry. This sumptuous nightlife spot features edgy dance beats from the area's hottest DJs, tasty cocktails, and with its jazzy LED lighting by Color Kinetics it’s easy to see why visitors find this club to be a memorable experience.

Stephen Lieberman, president of SJ Lighting, was tasked to differentiate Cherry from all the clubs on the Vegas strip, and he was up to the challenge. Working with 4Wall Entertainment, a leading international provider of lighting systems for theatrical, architectural, and marketing applications, they created an enticing night club with striking lighting effects.

The moment patrons enter the club, they are enveloped by a welcoming atmosphere that beckons them inside. Walking through a 40-foot (12 m) mirrored tunnel with scarlet lighting, club goers get a feeling of warmth as they walk to the heart of the club. The saturated red light is generated by iColor Cove® MX Powercore, a linear LED-based fixture that provides uniform color mixing with maximized output. 160 units of iColor Cove® MX Powercore run parallel along the top and bottom side of the tunnel, which is designed to block out the slot machines and other casino noise. iColor Cove MX Powercore is also found behind the V.I.P. booths surrounding the club, providing exclusive lighting effects for its clientele.

The club’s main room has a domed ceiling broken up into a checkerboard of metal panels that reflect an abstract image of the dancers below. The patchwork metal is detailed with concentric circles and arches made with iColor® Flex SL (provided by SJ Lighting, Inc.), a LED-based strand that can generate extraordinary effects without the constraints of fixture size, shape or space. Inside the metal panels, over 2,000 iColor Flex SL nodes are hung by a double-bend radial pipe to create spectacular effects when on, but can blend into the background when turned off.

Cherry's location already sets it apart from the mainstream, but with its dynamic lighting design it now creates an experience that is nonparallel to every other nightclub in Las Vegas-area casinos.
