Brooklyn Borough Hall, Con Edison

Brooklyn, New York, USA

The use of color in architectural lighting design is not limited to Las Vegas. Case in point? New York’s Brooklyn Borough Hall. Conceptualized by Fisher Marantz Stone, the lighting design for the building’s façade incorporates vibrant color and color-changing effects enabled by Color Kinetics’ ColorBlast® 12 LED lighting system. Per the client’s original request, the LED ighting system provides the flexibility to produce special light shows for holidays and events. Effects may be easily authored with ColorPlay® software and stored and triggered by iPlayer® 2, which holds up to eight light shows. On top of the aesthetic versatility, the ColorBlast 12 light fixture boasts long source life, low energy consumption and minimal maintenance requirements – translating to an operationally efficient and visually striking result.
