Aqualounge
Hamburg, Germany
This conceptual room was one of ten artistic installations staged inside 20-foot (6-meter) containers in a warehouse situated on the Hamburg harbor. The room featured frosted glass walls that gradually changed color to mimic an underwater atmosphere, hence the name “Aqualounge.”
To bring the design to life, 20 ColorBlast® 12 units were installed along the base of two opposing walls, concealed behind the glass. The ColorBlast units generated saturated colors with even distribution to envelop the entire space in color. ColorPlay® authoring software was used to create a series of dynamic lighting effects, which were downloaded for storage and playback via iPlayer® 2.
The combination of colored light, sound and materials was intended to reflect the power of water as the origin of life and a living space.
