Companies on the Cutting Edge of the Lighting and Pool & Spa Industries Join Forces to Add Intelligent Color Changing Illumination to High-End Hydrotherapy Spas
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - ATLANTIC CITY POOL & SPA SHOW - January 29, 2002 - Color Kinetics Incorporated, the pioneer of intelligent LED-based illumination technologies, today announces an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partnership with Saratoga Spa, a leader in the innovation of swimming pools and spa products. Through this agreement, Saratoga Spa will utilize Color Kinetics' patented Chromacore® technology in its Aurora Lighting System found in select models of the company's Luxury Spa line of high-end hydrotherapy spas. The Aurora Lighting System will debut at the Atlantic City Pool & Spa Show on January 29, 2002.
For today's sophisticated spa buyer, a spa is more than just a recreational product. In addition to the lifestyle benefits spas offer, many owners use spas for the multitude of health benefits they offer, such as pain relief and relaxation. Now along with these benefits, Saratoga Spa will offer the benefit of colored lighting in their Luxury Spas. Select models in the Luxury Spa line will offer users the ability to add colored light and distinctive color changing lighting effects - such as color washes, random color changes, high-speed random color changes, blue to green cross fades, sunset cross fades, chasing rainbows and a number of fixed colors - to their spa experience, all simply controlled via the spa's top-side digital control. This unique benefit is made possible by Color Kinetics' patented Chromacore technology, which utilizes microprocessor-controlled, multi-colored LEDs (light emitting diodes) to generate millions of colors and a variety of color changing lighting effects. Chromacore is a digital technology so Color Kinetics fixtures are solid-state and do not use motors or moving parts, making them perfect for spas. Saratoga Spa will incorporate a number of Color Kinetics fixtures into select models in its Luxury Spa line, even creating a patent-pending design to integrate this technology into the hydrotherapy jets, filling the spa with cascades of colored light and effects.
