Company's new iColor Accent product honored with Roeder Award for Commitment to Excellence and Colorful Spirit
SAN FRANCISCO - LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL 2002 - June 3, 2002 - At the Lightfair 2002 New Product Showcase awards presentation held today, the Lightfair judges honored Color Kinetics with a special award, The Roeder Award, for the company's new iColor Accent intelligent LED luminaire. Unlike other product awards which are given out each year at Lightfair, The Roeder Award is awarded at the judges discretion to a product and company that truly meets and exceeds the challenges of lighting design in the 21st century, and at the same time embodies the colorful and innovative spirit of the late lighting designer Craig Roeder, for whom the award is named.
The award was created in recognition of Roeder's incredible contributions to the lighting industry through his breakthrough designs and unparalleled use of color in lighting, as well as through his efforts to help create and sustain the Lightfair New Product Showcase in celebration of industry excellence. In addition to being honored with a 2002 Roeder Award, Color Kinetics was the recipient of the first-ever Roeder Award for its groundbreaking iColor Cove product in 1999.
One of the newest products to incorporate Color Kinetics' patented Chromacore® intelligent LED-based illumination technology, iColor Accent is a low-voltage, indoor/outdoor direct-view linear lighting system offering designers and architects a cutting-edge, low-maintenance option for incorporating colored light and color changing effects in direct-view applications. Available in a variety of lengths, iColor Accent can be installed in any size application to provide continuous, seamless runs of beautiful, intelligently controlled colored light and effects.
