Incorporated, the pioneer of full spectrum digital lighting, today
introduces Juice Box, a breakthrough in lighting control technology
that provides both power and data to Color Kinetics' iColor™
MR digital color changing lamps over standard two-wire circuits.
Filled with Color Kinetics' exclusive patent-pending Smartjuice™
power and data multiplexing technology (see 11/19/99 press release,
"The Revolution Continues: Introducing Smartjuice™ Intelligent
Power Technology from Color Kinetics"), Juice Box elegantly eliminates
the need for the separate data wires required by conventional control
methods.
Juice Box is the first product to incorporate Color Kinetics' patent-pending
Smartjuice technology, which brings both power and data to Color
Kinetics' iColor MR digital color changing lamps over existing wiring.
Introduced by Color Kinetics earlier this year, iColor MR is the
world's first digital color-changing lamp designed to fit in standard
MR-16 fixtures.
The control capabilities made possible by Juice Box enable beautiful,
dynamic lighting effects just about anywhere that traditional MR-16
lamps are commonly used, including architectural applications and
retail merchandising displays. Juice Box enables advanced control
of iColor MR lamps, such as the ability to address each lamp individually,
or the synchronization of a series of iColor MR lamps, providing
a high level of control to produce vibrant cascades of color, including
dynamic chasing rainbow effects and shimmering color washes.
Juice Box is designed to support up to 22 iColor MR lamps, and replaces
other step-down transformers for a variety of low-voltage circuits
including low-voltage track, rail and cable systems. Juice Box accepts
data from external devices, including standard DMX512 boards, PCs
and other networked devices, as well as Color Kinetics' own line
of easy-to-use controllers. Juice Box offers additional features
for contractor-installed lighting applications: it is designed to
be hardwired into the system, it accepts power and data signals
via flying leads and distributes Smartjuice via flying leads, and
entire package is designed to fit into a standard electrical four-gang
wall box.
