COLOR KINETICS DELIVERS NEW GENERATION LIGHTING PRODUCTS

Color Kinetics Incorporated is pleased to announce the European launch of its award-winning C-Series products, which will take place at PLASA'98 (September 6-9, 1998) in London. The ground-breaking product line, which has received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from the lighting community, is powered by a revolutionary, patent-pending technology called Chromacore™.

Color Kinetics® C-Series products were first introduced in November 1997 at Lighting Dimensions International, North America's largest entertainment technology and design trade show. The products earned the coveted "Architectural Lighting Product of the Year" award in their North American debut. Since that time, Color Kinetics has also announced the innovative CMR18, extending Chromacore technology's color and color changing capabilities to fixtures equipped with standard MR16 sockets.

Commenting on the significance of this new lighting technology, Elizabeth Strausbaugh, Interior Designer, Elkus Manfredi Architects said, "The exciting aspect to Color Kinetics technologies is that as a designer, I now have another tool for my design work. Light is now free to be designed like wood or metal and can be used in places where other fixtures would not fit or would be prohibitive due to maintenance."

Chromacore, the breakthrough which led to the founding of Color Kinetics by George Mueller and Dr. Ihor Lys, represents a revolution in lighting technology. It employs a microprocessor to control variable intensity, super bright LEDs to generate colors and colored lighting effects through additive RGB color mixing. "The phenomenally positive industry reaction to our product introduction underscores our own sense of excitement at this innovation," said George Mueller, CEO and President of Color Kinetics Incorporated. "With the advent of Chromacore, we have created not only a line of new products, but also an entirely new category of lighting we call full spectrum digital lighting. Chromacore-powered lighting has cast the art of color changing illumination in an entirely new light."

Chromacore products have not only extended the aesthetic frontiers of lighting design, but have also established a new standard for functional capability. Among the enhancements offered by Chromacore products:

Low voltage operation
Low power consumption
Low heat
Lightweight, compact size, small profile
No UV emissions
Totally silent operation
Stand-alone operation
DMX512 or PC Serial Data Protocol

COLOR KINETICS PRODUCT LINE

C-Series Products: Color Kinetics C-Series project a soft edged beam of light and are available in three sizes to fit many applications. The current line, now shipping, includes the C-200, C-75 and C-30 fixtures. Each unit has 12 dip switches, which can be set in different positions to control various effects in stand-alone operation. Alternatively, the units can be externally-controlled via data interface ports which accommodate PC or DMX512 direction. The interface is compatible with DOS, Windows 3.1/95, and most DMX512 stage lighting controllers. C-Series fixtures are made from extruded aluminum in black anodized finish and are equipped with a 15 degree diffuser lens and hanging yoke.

Introducing the CMR18: With the introduction of the CMR18, Color Kinetics provides lighting designers an incredibly flexible and economical way to produce colored lighting effects with existing fixtures. The CMR18 lamp plugs directly into the low voltage MR16 sockets found on many leading track lighting fixtures. The CMR18 shares the same practical advantages as the C-Series fixtures, and features eight dip switches for controlling stand alone operation.
