COLOR KINETICS EXPANDS BLAST LIGHT SERIES OF INTELLIGENT LED FIXTURES WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF COLORBLAST 6

FRANKFURT-April 14, 2002-Light+Building 2002 - Color Kinetics Incorporated, the leader in intelligent LED illumination technologies, today introduces ColorBlast 6, a compact indoor/outdoor intelligent LED wallwasher that generates rich, uniform colored light and effects. This stylish fixtures expands the company's popular Blast Light Series of fixtures by offering a smaller wallwashing fixture perfect for adding vibrant color and dynamic lighting effects to almost any environment, including residential, architectural and retail. ColorBlast 6 is powered by Color Kinetics' patented Chromacore digital lighting technology, which utilizes microprocessor-controlled, multicolored LEDs to generate millions of colors and a variety of color changing effects.

Don't let the slim, smooth design of ColorBlast 6 fool you, this compact fixture houses huge digital lighting power. By using LEDs as the illumination source, ColorBlast 6 can be programmed to generate almost any color or lighting effect imaginable without any of the drawbacks or constraints associated with traditional colored lighting methods - all in a compact, solid-state housing. ColorBlast 6 projects a soft-edge beam of light at a 24° beam angle, and may be easily programmed using Color Kinetics Zapi handheld programming device to run an assortment of preprogrammed light shows - such as fixed colors, random colors, color washes, cross fades or strobes - or be set to a unique DMX address for externally control via a DMX512 lighting console, a PC, or a Color Kinetics controller.

Not all the power is contained inside ColorBlast 6 though. This stylish, completely sealed fixture is housed in rugged die-cast aluminum, meaning it can be used in wet or damp locations, whether indoors or out, without losing any of its beauty. The housing is equipped for easy attachment of spread lenses, louvers and other attachments, and is available in either black or white powder coat or anodized aluminum finishes to match its environment, as well as to prevent oxidation. A single 3-wire cable, which provides both power and data to the light fixture and is rated for outdoor installations, makes installation clean and simple. The versatile base of ColorBlast 6 allows the fixture to be mounted on a wall or ceiling or placed as a stand on a floor. An industrial-grade constant torque hinge provides the ability to aim the light quickly without the need for any special tools, while a swivel bracket makes positioning the fixture in wall and ceiling installations effortless.

ColorBlast 6 has many benefits that make it appropriate for a variety of applications. In addition to the creative possibilities and flexible placement and positioning options, ColorBlast 6 consumes little power, generates almost no heat, offers an ultra-long source life, and produces no noise or UV emissions. Now, it's never been easier to add a little color to your environment.

Product Information: Availability: ColorBlast 6 will be available in June 2002 through Color Kinetics Authorized Distributors.
