COLOR KINETICS BRINGS MORE POWER TO THE PEOPLE

New cMOPS and iMOPS Expand Family of Power Supplies

NEW YORK — Lightfair 2000 — May 9, 2000 — Color Kinetics Incorporated, the pioneer of full spectrum digital lighting, announces two additions to its family of power supplies: cMOPS and iMOPS. Designed to streamline multi-unit installations of Color Kinetics lighting, cMOPS powers hardwired Color Kinetics™ C-200 Security, C-200 Watercolor, and ColorBlast™ fixtures, while iMOPS powers installations of multiple iColor™ Cove units.

Because cMOPS and iMOPS are designed to work with specific product lines, users get a power supply that is optimized for their particular lighting application. No additional components are required ---cMOPS and iMOPS power supplies are installation-ready right out of the box. The result? Clean, simple connections that meet all National Electric Code (NEC) requirements, and look nearly as stylish as the fixtures themselves. Both cMOPS and iMOPS are available in two versions: a 150-watt option to support medium-sized installations and a 300-watt option to support large-sized installations. cMOPS-150 powers up to six fixtures from a central supply, and cMOPS-300 powers up to 12 fixtures from a central supply, while iMOPS-150 can run up to 20 iColor Cove 12" units or up to 32 iColor Cove 6" units, and iMOPS 300 can run up to 40 iColor Cove 12" units or up to 64 iColor Cove 6" units.

cMOPS and iMOPS offer universal input capabilities (100 - 240v) for worldwide use, and output 24vDC to power Color Kinetics lights and accessories. cMOPS and iMOPS are optimized for contractor-installed lighting applications: they are designed for the light fixtures to be hardwired to the power supply to receive both power and data signals; they distribute the data signal to all light fixtures; and the entire unit is built into a NEMA-style enclosure, eliminating the need to purchase a separate regulation housing. The enclosure has seven ¾" pre-formed holes available for conduit connectors to comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements in all U.S. cities.

Whenever side by side mounting is required for large numbers of cMOPS or iMOPS units, a punch-out is available on each end of the power supply for easy access, and the data signal can be easily daisy chained from power supply to power supply.

cMOPS-150, iMOPS-150 and iMOPS-300 are available immediately from Color Kinetics Authorized Distributors. cMOPS-300 will be available later this year.
