Color Kinetics Expands its Line of Intelligent LED Illumination Fixtures
With the Addition of Four New Color Changing Lighting Products
SAN FRANCISCO - LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL 2002 - June 3, 2002 - Color Kinetics, the pioneer of intelligent LED illumination technologies, today celebrates its fifth appearance at Lightfair International with the expansion of its professional line of color changing illumination fixtures. The company introduces four new products within its bColor Series of intelligent color changing LED fixtures, expanding the line to include both wallwashing and spotlight fixtures. All of these products incorporate the company's patented Chromacore® LED technology, offering users the ability to create rich colored light and dynamic color changing lighting effects. The four new product additions to the bColor Series make it possible to incorporate intelligent illumination in a variety of environments, such as architectural, hospitality, retail visual merchandising and residential.
New products joining the bColor Series include:
- ColorBlast® 12/ColorBlast 6: Sleek, compact indoor/outdoor wallwashing fixtures that generate rich, uniform colored light and effects to bathe walls with beautiful colors and eye-catching effects. ColorBlast fixtures offer a variety of mounting and aiming options - the versatile base allows the fixture to be mounted on a wall or ceiling or placed as a stand on a floor. Chic and modern looking, ColorBlast fixtures are available in two sizes.
- ColorBurst™ 6/ColorBurst 4: On display at Lightfair, prototypes of brand-new ColorBurst 6 and ColorBurst 4 products, combining the fun yet classical look of a spotlight fixture with the contemporary benefits of LED technology. Thin, low-profile ColorBurst fixtures generate rich colored light and dynamic color changing effects, and incorporate a unique rotating mounting arm to allow for exact aiming of the light. ColorBurst fixtures may be used indoors or out, and are available in two sizes for seamless integration into any environment.
The four new fixtures in the bColor Series project a soft-edge beam of light, and may be easily controlled via a DMX512 lighting console, a PC, or a Color Kinetics controller. In addition to a choice of sizes, ColorBlast and ColorBurst fixtures are available in three finishes: black or white powder coat, or a natural aluminum finish. Like all of Color Kinetics lighting fixtures, ColorBlast and ColorBurst fixtures consume little power, generate little heat, offer an ultra-long source life, and produce no noise or UV emissions, for a virtually maintenance-free lighting solution.
As with all Color Kinetics intelligent illumination fixtures, ColorBlast and ColorBurst fixtures incorporate Color Kinetics' patented Chromacore technology, which utilizes microprocessor-controlled, multicolored LEDs to generate colored light and lighting effects. Color Kinetics uses only the brightest and most advanced LEDs manufactured today. These cutting-edge LEDs, coupled with Color Kinetics patented layer of digital technology, offer lighting designers and other design professionals more options when choosing to incorporate colored lighting into their environments. In keeping with its commitment to providing market-focused products, Color Kinetics developed these new products using feedback gained from the lighting specifier community.
Now in its fifth year of operation, Color Kinetics celebrates its fifth appearance at Lightfair International with five major announcements, dubbed the "High 5." In addition to expanding the company's range of intelligent LED fixtures with the debut of five new color changing products at the show, Color Kinetics also introduces a line of single color LED fixtures, making Color Kinetics a one-stop-shop for all LED lighting fixture needs. Other High 5 announcements include significant across-the-board price reductions on all Color Kinetics illumination products, exciting developments in the intelligent white light space, and the adoption of Chromacore technology in five new industries, including architectural lighting, aerospace, gaming, pool and spa, and vending.
