Strategic Hires in Sales, Manufacturing, New Market and Technology Development Leading Aggressive Global Expansion for Full Spectrum Digital Lighting

Color Kinetics Incorporated, the pioneer of full spectrum digital lighting, today announces the expansion of its senior management team. Five new Vice Presidents -including two promoted from within the company - fortify a senior team of significant depth and experience, leading the company in bringing its revolutionary digital technology to market in a number of new forms.
Color Kinetics was founded in 1997, and in just under three years the company has: grown to nearly 100 employees; built a customer list that reads like a "Who's Who" of the retail, design and entertainment industries, including Disney, Sony Loews, Limited, Inc., Sheraton, Royal Caribbean International, Rainforest Cafe, Brookstone, Nine West, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harrods, to name just a few; and developed an expanding intellectual property portfolio, including a patent on its Chromacore™ technology as well as U.S. and international filings encompassing a number of emerging digital technologies. This combination of revolutionary technology and a strong intellectual property portfolio have wide-ranging consumer, OEM and licensing opportunities. While continuing to achieve success in the professional lighting space, Color Kinetics is expanding into promising new markets for its technology, and continuing to develop and defend its growing intellectual property portfolio.

Joining the existing senior team members who have been in place since the early days of Color Kinetics are:
- Bruce Beck, Vice President, Business Development: Mr. Beck joins Color Kinetics with over 28 years of experience in new market development, licensing, OEM partnership management and sales with companies such as Bolt Beranek and Newman, Amdahl, and Wang Computer. Most recently, Mr. Beck was Vice President, Business Development, with Mercury Computer Systems.
- Kevin Dowling, Ph.D., Vice President, Strategic Technologies: Dr. Dowling joined Color Kinetics in April of 1999 as Director of Engineering, leading a team through the design and development of many of Color Kinetics' most successful full spectrum digital lighting and lighting control products, along with several custom projects. Kevin brings 17 years of experience in advanced robotics engineering as a student, Research Engineer and Project Scientist at the Field Robotics Center of Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to Color Kinetics, Kevin was Chief Robotics Engineer for PRI Automation.
- Allen Duck, Vice President, International Sales: Originally from the United Kingdom, Mr. Duck brings 12 years of extensive international sales experience to Color Kinetics, with a focus on building and managing worldwide distribution networks in the manufacturing and high-tech arenas. Most recently, Allen was Vice President, Global Sales, with Speedline Tech, Inc., where his team increased sales by $50 million.
- David Goselin, Vice President, Manufacturing: Mr. Goselin joins Color Kinetics with 30+ years of experience in manufacturing and operations management, managing both U.S. and offshore manufacturing for leading companies including Honeywell and Modicon, AEG. Most recently, Dave was Senior Vice President of Operations/General Manager, Peripherals Division, for PictureTel, where he led worldwide manufacturing and distribution of PictureTel's visual- and audio-collaboration systems.
- Jeffrey Sirek, Vice President, North American Sales: Mr. Sirek joined Color Kinetics in July of 1998 as a Regional Sales Manager, bringing awealth of sales and sales management experience to Color Kinetics, with expertise in new market development and distribution partnership management. Prior to Color Kinetics, Jeff held sales and sales management positions with leading companies in the medical industry, including Pfizer, Sopha Medical and Adac Laboratories, earning top sales rankings with each of these organizations.
