FRANKFURT-April 9, 2002-Light+Building 2002 - Combining the world's most proven LED illumination expertise with the best in stylish and sophisticated Italian design, Color Kinetics Incorporated, the leader in intelligent LED illumination technologies, and Targetti, a leading Italian designer and manufacturer of architectural lighting fixtures and systems, today announce their OEM partnership. Through this partnership, Targetti will incorporate Color Kinetics patented Chromacore® intelligent LED illumination technologies, which generate millions of colors and a variety of fully controllable lighting effects, into a new line of custom fixtures. The two companies also plan to co-develop new Chromacore-based "designer" lighting fixtures.
This new product line enables Color Kinetics' signature full spectrum color and lighting effects-ranging from subtle to spectacular - to be incorporated into any décor through an array of Targetti's unique, beautiful fixture styles. Besides aesthetic benefits, LEDs offer a host of practical advantages over conventional light sources that make them an extremely energy efficient, long lasting, low maintenance and versatile source of light. Color Kinetics pioneered LED-based lighting with its line of intelligent fixtures and controllers, which have been in use throughout the world in architectural, hospitality, retail, entertainment, and OEM and licensing applications since 1997.
