COLOR KINETICS AWARDED PATENT RELATING TO
INTELLIGENT SOLID-STATE
INDICATOR SYSTEMS
Boston, MA - June 7, 2005 -Color Kinetics Incorporated (NASDAQ: CLRK), a pioneer of intelligent solid-state lighting systems and technologies, today announced the issuance of its 41st patent, which relates to the use of intelligent solid-state lighting systems as a means for indicating information about a package.
US patent number 6,897,624, issued on May 24, is directed to a package or item information system. For example, an intelligent solid-state lighting system may be mounted on a package to relate information about the package's condition. The information may be date, temperature, shock, or any other information that relates to the condition of the package. The technology might be applied to indicate when packages or containers in a warehouse are being exposed to heat or nearing shelf life expiration, for example.
