COLOR KINETICS TO BE INCLUDED IN
RUSSELL 3000 AND RUSSELL 2000 INDEXES
Boston, MA - September 16, 2004 - Color Kinetics Incorporated (NASDAQ: CLRK), a pioneer in the design, marketing and licensing of intelligent solid-state lighting systems and technologies, today announced that it will be added to the broad-market Russell 3000® Index and small-cap Russell 2000® Index after the close of US equity markets on September 30, 2004.

Russell announced in August that its family of US indexes will add initial public offerings (IPOs) on a quarterly basis in order to enhance how well each index reflects its segment of the US equity market. Color Kinetics is one of 48 successfully completed IPOs to qualify for inclusion at the end of the third quarter.
