COLOR KINETICS INTRODUCES iCOLOR® MR g2

Next generation of popular iColor MR lamp features greater intensity and wider beam distribution,
for use in standard MR16 fixtures

Boston, MA - July 2, 2004 - Color Kinetics Incorporated (Nasdaq: CLRK), a pioneer in the design, marketing and licensing of intelligent solid-state lighting systems, today introduced iColor® MR g2 -- an intelligent, color-changing lamp that applies the latest high-power LEDs to generate saturated bursts of color from most standard MR16 fixtures and sockets. A higher intensity evolution of Color Kinetics' popular iColor MR, the compact lamp facilitates both new and retrofit installations - bringing the aesthetic and practical benefits of solid-state light sources to existing installations and lighting environments.

iColor MR g2 is well suited for wide-ranging applications that call for highly efficient light sources that can generate saturated color and customizable effects, including architectural, display and retail environments where MR16 fixtures and track lighting are commonly used. With its higher output and wider beam distribution, iColor MR g2 extends the design possibilities of its predecessor - from direct-view points of light to special accents for custom-designed MR16 fixtures. Its standard MR16 bi-pin connectors, sleek housing and matte chrome finish make it easily adaptable to a wide variety of traditional lighting schemes where LEDs may not have been previously used.

iColor MR g2 is controlled by Color Kinetics' complete line of controllers, including the Ethernet-based Light System Manager, and third-party DMX controllers. It is supported by PDS-70mr - a new integrated power/data supply designed specifically for use with this lamp. PDS-70mr applies Color Kinetics' patented Smartjuice® technology to multiplex power and data over a 2-wire circuit. The compact, IP66-rated device supports DMX or Ethernet controls, as well as pre-programmed effects. One PDS-70mr powers up to 14 iColor MR g2 lamps. For large-scale installations, PDS-70mr used in conjunction with Light System Manager can minimize complexities by automatically discovering and addressing many lights in a network.

iColor MR g2 and PDS-70mr will be available in July.
