COLOR KINETICS HONORED FOR PRODUCT EXCELLENCE
iColor® Tile FX and C-Splash 2 Named Winners in Design Industry Competitions
Boston, MA - March 29, 2004 - Color Kinetics Incorporated, the pioneer of intelligent LED-based illumination technologies, today announced the recognition of two of its innovative systems with prestigious industry awards for product excellence.
iColor® Tile FX was honored with a 2003 Gold Award for Design Excellence from Design Journal, an international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers. A panel of lighting specialists determined the winners among the Lighting category based on innovation, technological advancement, quality, aesthetics and value. iColor Tile FX is a 2' by 2' panel that incorporates 144 individually addressable, tri-color LED nodes to enable intricate designs with light - ranging from one decorative wall accent to an integrated, multi-tile installation. C-Splash 2 was honored with a 2004 Lighting Design Award from Lighting Equipment News and the Institution of Lighting Engineers in the UK. It was named top External Luminaire within the Innovation category, based on ingenuity, engineering and its ability to simplify water-based lighting applications. C-Splash 2 is a sleek, submersible, LED-based system that provides vibrant color and customizable lighting effects in or near water -- from colored accents in landscaping design, to theatrical color-changing fountains, to grand-scale theme park installations.
