Senior Mechanical Engineer

The company is headquartered in Burlington, MA with offices in the UK and China. POSITION DESCRIPTION Leads designs and develops product concepts and mechanical subsystems for Color Kinetics. Executes and manages product design from concept to production for advanced technologies including design, prototyping, debug, validation, testing and certification. Responsible for performing tasks directly and working with others to drive projects forward. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts within the mechanical group. EXPERIENCE 5+ years experience Leads or owns some portion of a product design Works autonomously on multiple concurrent projects REQUIREMENTS B.S. minimum Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in a team-based product development environment Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-moving setting Ability to independently lead cross-functional projects SPECIAL SKILLS Must Have: 3D CAD- Solidworks or Equivalent High Volume Manufacturing Static/Dynamic load Design & Analysis Test plans for Designs Injection molding/Die cast design Hands on proof-of-concept prototyping Nice to Have: FEA/Thermal Design& Analysis Contract Manufacturing Electronics Packaging Weatherproof Design Experience Consumer Product Design Optical Component Design Product Certification/Regulatory To apply for a position, please email resume and cover letter to careers@colorkinetics.com or fax to 781-418-9205.
