Level II Mechanical Engineer

The company is headquartered in Burlington, MA with offices in the UK and China. POSITION DESCRIPTION Designs and develops product concepts, and mechanical subsystems for Color Kinetics. Executes and manages product design from concept to production including design, prototyping, debug, validation, testing and certification. Responsible for performing the tasks directly or working with others to drive projects forward. Applies appropriate principles, theories and concepts to produce robust designs. EXPERIENCE 2-5 years experience Can work autonomously on projects Meaningful prior experience in product development Experienced with development tools REQUIREMENTS B.S. minimum Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in a team-based product development environment Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-moving setting SPECIAL SKILLS Must Have: 3D CAD- Solidworks or Equivalent Test plans for Designs Injection molding/Die cast design Hands on proof-of-concept prototyping Nice to Have: High Volume Manufacturing FEA/Thermal Design& Analysis Consumer Product Design Static/Dynamic load Design & Analysis Weatherproof Design Experience Systems Design Contract Manufacturing Electronics Packaging Optical Component Design Product Certification/Regulatory To apply for a position, please email resume and cover letter to careers@colorkinetics.com or fax to 781-418-9205.
