Compliance Engineer

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The ideal candidate's main focus will be in managing the entire regulatory compliance including new product certification and released product upkeep. The candidate will act as an individual technical contributor running or working on several development projects at once. The candidate will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the project from helping define the product specification to design, testing and production.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES / OBJECTIVES

  • Proactively manage all regulatory services including but not limited to UL, CE, PSE, FCC
  • Work with design team to ensure product design will meet regulatory standards.
  • Work with design team to resolve any compliance issues.
  • Manage several lighting product development projects at once.
KNOW HOW
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with regulatory agencies (UL, CE, FCC, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in product design (Analog and digital circuits) and development
  • Minimum of 2 years experience leading and coordinating projects.
  • Proven track record of developing successful products on time
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a small development team
  • Electrical Engineering with strong analog and digital design skills. A strong systems background a must.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: Embedded system design, power sub systems, thermal design, signal conditioning, analog design
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
  • Must be a team player.
Education: Must have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. preferred.

PROBLEM SOLVING

The Compliance Engineer must be comfortable managing a product thru the regulator and qualification process.

  • UL, PSE, CE, FCC etc. cerification
  • On time delivery of products.
  • Delivery of products that meet product requirements.
    • Including: features, costs, power, thermal, etc.
  • Product Design & NPDP Development
  • Product Quality
  • Planning and Scheduling
